Learning
At Giles Junior, learning is designed to be purposeful, engaging, and accessible for every child in our care. We focus on strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, helping pupils build confidence through clear teaching, meaningful practice, and regular feedback. Our approach supports children as they develop the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.
We work closely with parents to ensure learning at home complements what happens in the classroom. Our teachers share expectations, guidance, and practical ways to support reading, spellings, and everyday maths. By creating a consistent routine and celebrating progress, we help children develop good study habits and a positive attitude towards learning.
As pupils move through primary school, we also broaden their learning through wider curriculum experiences, including science, humanities, arts, and physical education. These opportunities develop curiosity, teamwork, and independence, while strengthening knowledge and understanding across subjects. At Giles Junior, we aim for every child to feel supported, challenged appropriately, and ready for the next stage of their education.
